Beekeeper Certification Courses

Mt. Baker Beekeepers Association proudly offers Beekeeping Courses several times a year. Here’s your options for Spring of 2025. Participants will be receiving instruction to achieve the optional Beginner and Apprentice levels and more importantly getting your bees to thrive and survive throughout the year. The cost is $65 for the class. You’ll be attending one set of classes either March 1st and 2nd from 8-noon or April 5th & 6th from 8-noon. They will be **Zoom Only** presentations.

After completing the course a person may take the tests given by WASBA, Washington State Beekeepers Association, and receive certificates. This is optional and you can take both tests if you meet WASBA qualifications.

Here is an opportunity to attend the class for WASBA Beginner and/or Apprentice Certification or continue their education journey without certification. This class will help you with the proper tools and insights to successfully keep bees throughout the year. It is being taught by our Club’s Cornell University Master Beekeeper Dawn Beck. You can sign up for the optional Certifications below. The class is being taught by **Zoom Only**

Beginner Beekeeper WASBA Certification

Price: $25.00

Here is an opportunity to take the Beginner Certification for WASBA for those that have taken the class and want to continue their education journey. Beekeeping certificate and WASBA Membership (a $30 value) is included after successfully completing the exam. The WASBA Workbook Manual is included. MBBA membership is NOT included.

Apprentice Beekeeper WASBA Certification

Price: $35.00

Here is an opportunity to take the Apprentice Certification for WASBA for those that have completed the Beginner Certification, have one (1)year of beekeeping and want to continue their education journey. A Certificate and Patch will be issued and membership in WASBA(a $30 value) is included with the certification fee after successfully completing the exam. The WASBA Workbook Manual is included. MBBA membership is NOT included.

Who’s interested in working on Beekeeper Certifications?

The curriculum will follow the Washington State Beekeepers Association Master Beekeepers Program (WASBA).
